Highlights

  • Nice nature
  • from the Alps to the Mediterranian coast
  • Ljubljana - lively capital

Day 1 : Ljubljana

Transfer from the airport to Ljubljana. Free time for the rest of the day. Overnight in Ljubljana.

Day 2 : Ljubljana – Postojna Caves – Ljubljana

Enjoy a guided tour around the capital city of Slovenia. Big on history, entertainment and charm, small in size and distances. Ride a funicular to the castle from Old Town not far from the market, and you will be rewarded with excellent views of the city and the mountains.
In the afternoon, you visit Postojna Cave. Postojna Cave can boast more than 37 million visitors, an impressive number for a country as small as Slovenia. An electric train will take you into the caves and then enjoy the underground karst world. Overnight in Ljubljana.

Day 3 : Ljubljana - Logarska Valley - Kamnik

After breakfast, Slovenia private tour will lead you to The Logarska Valley which is one of the most beautiful Alpine glacial valleys in Europe. It extends into the Kamnik-Savinja Alps from the north. Tradition and nature have found harmony here, serving as an excellent example of sustainable development. Next, walk to the Rinka waterfall. Then, drive to Kamnik with a stop for a tasting of traditional products of the Savinjska region. Overnight in Kamnik or vicinity.

Day 4 : Kamnik - Velika Planina - Bled

Active day in Gorenjska region. We will visit Velika Planina, a karstified mountain plateau in the Kamnik–Savinja Alps, and learn the herdsmen’s story in intact nature. The herdsmen’s settlement is one of few settlements of such size in Europe and attracts many visitors throughout the year. It is distinct by its typical architecture, which symbolizes Velika Planina. The roofs are covered with pine shingles, which extend relatively low—free time for a typical herdsmen’s lunch. Return to the valley and drive to Bled. Overnight in Bled.

Day 5 : Bled - Bohinj - Vogel/Savica Waterfall - Bled

Start the day by visiting Bled, Slovenia’s most popular tourist resort. Take a ride around the lake and enjoy the photo opportunities of this picturesque Slovenian treasure with its emerald-green lake, picture-postcard church on an islet and a medieval castle clinging to a rocky 139 m high cliff and don’t forget to try the typical and sinfully good cream cake ‘kremsnita’. Then, continue to the valley of Bohinj with its unspoiled nature, a glacial lake amidst the Julian Alps, with its brooding, eerily calm and silent body of water. This lake is a nature lovers paradise. Enjoy the beauty of Lake Bled, then come to Bohinj to become one with nature! See where the local mountaineers first climbed Mt. Triglav (Slovenian highest mountain-2864 m). After the visit, take the cable car to Mount Vogel, an alpine ski resort that is also a popular tourist and hikers’ destination in the summer. From there, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Bohinj valley. Have some free time for a mountain snack or lunch, then return Bled for an overnight.
*Optional visit of Savica waterfall instead of Vogel.

Day 6 : Bled - Lipica Studfarm - Piran - Portoroz

In the morning, you ride towards Lipica, the famous stud farm. That lives for and on its snow-white Lipizzaner horses, which were first bred here for the Spanish Riding School in Vienna in the late 16th century. Then we continue our Slovenia private tour to Piran, everybody’s favourite Slovenian coastal city, very picturesque and sitting at the tip of a narrow peninsula, one of the best-preserved historical towns anywhere on the Adriatic and a gem of Venetian Gothic architecture. In Piran, you will enjoy some free time for a stroll along the sea or the narrow Istrian streets. Overnight in Piran or Portorož.
