Rest for the night at a SUPERIOR TOURIST CLASS HOTEL, with dinner arrangements at your discretion.
This morning, our journey kicks off with a city tour of Geneva, showcasing the enchanting lakeside parks, the distinctive town hall, and the European seat of the United Nations. By late morning, we bid farewell to Geneva and embarked on a scenic drive to Lausanne and Montreux. En route, we pass by the renowned Chillon Castle, a 13th-century fortress immortalized in Lord Byron's poem. Traversing the Valais, a valley adorned with orchards and vineyards along the Rhone River, we reach Täsch. Here, we board a cogwheel train bound for the mountain retreat of Zermatt, nestled at the base of the majestic Matterhorn. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a FIRST CLASS HOTEL.
Enjoy a leisurely morning in Zermatt, immersing yourself in the charm of quaint old farmhouses and barns with their unique architecture. Take the opportunity for shopping, relaxation, or opt for an exhilarating cogwheel train journey to Gornergrat, offering a spectacular view of the snow-covered peaks. In the afternoon, board the train to Täsch, where our awaiting bus will transport us across the breathtaking Nufenen Pass, ultimately reaching Airolo. The return journey to Zurich is either by bus or train, depending on the group size, with an anticipated arrival in Zurich at around 6:30 p.m. Note that during the beginning and end of the season, if the Nufenen Pass is still closed due to winter conditions, an alternative route will be taken.
